This is a juniper tree behind my house here in New Mexico. I painted this from a reference photo I took late winter on a sunny day following a surprise snowfall.  One of the things I love about New Mexico is the number of days we have sunshine no matter what season.  The fresh fall of snow the day before was quiet and serene while falling, but even more wonderful was the following  day with the sun shining again. Each day is a new day is it not! The snow made this desert landscape look crisp, clean and fresh.  I enjoyed the reminder of those couple of days when later this year I created this painting from the photos I took that day.
